Common Failures of Sprinkler Self-priming Pump

Common Failures of Sprinkler Self-priming Pump

2020-08-11 16:30:42
The water truck uses the power of the vehicle's engine to drive the sprinkler pump, and adds water to the vehicle from the water inlet or transports the water in the tank to the various sprinklers through pipes to achieve various functions. Therefore, the sprinkler self-priming pump is an important part of the water truck.

  • Motor part.
1. No response after power on. Most of these problems are caused by short circuits in power plugs, power lead wires, and motor windings.

2. Difficult to start or unable to start, accompanied by a "buzzing" sound.  During maintenance, you can use a small bamboo blade to quickly move the fan blades in the direction of rotation. If the motor runs quickly, it means that the starting capacitor or the starting winding is damaged. Replace the capacitor with the same capacity or repair the starting winding; if the motor freezes, it is mostly caused by the motor and pump. Mechanical failure of the head, such as bearing damage, impeller jamming, etc.

3. The motor can run, but the speed is slow, with the casing is overheated and has a burnt smell. Probably the motor windings are short-circuited. The motor should be disassembled and repaired by welding, jumper, isolation, and rewinding depending on the damage.

4. Large noise and vibration during operation. Most of the bearings are damaged or the bearing and the casing are not properly matched. The motor needs to be disassembled for inspection. If the bearing is damaged, it should be replaced; if the bearing runs outside the circle, the mating surface of the pump casing can be treated with chiseling; if the bearing runs inside the circle, you can The worn parts of the motor shaft are treated with engraving, and if they are severely worn, they should be repaired by surfacing first and then turning.

  • The pump head part of the sprinkler
The motor runs normally but the water output is small or no water at all. In this case, first of all, check the seal of the water pump of the sprinkler, unplug the power plug first, block the suction port with your hand, fill the pump with water, hold the outlet with your mouth and blow inward, and observe whether the pump head is leaking. The leak is the place where the seal is damaged. The common faulty parts are the water inlet pad, the water outlet pad, and the impeller cover pad, which should be replaced during maintenance. If there is no full water phenomenon, most of the impeller is damaged, the water barrier between the suction chamber and the outlet chamber is corroded, the pump headwater barrier is worn flat, the gap between the impeller and the pump casing is enlarged, etc., the impeller and pump casing should be replaced. When replacing the impeller, pay attention to completely remove the remaining copper blades in the pump to avoid damage to the new impeller again.
