What is a flat tire? It means a tire that ruptures and loses air in a very short period of time. A flat tire will cause the car to lose control. There are many reasons for a puncture of a dump truck, so what are the factors that cause a puncture?
1. High tire pressure
In order to save fuel or meet the needs of overloading, many dump truck drivers generally charge the tire pressure to more than 12. This operation makes the tires overloaded for a long time. If the tires are defective or damaged, it is easy to cause a flat tire.
2. High tire temperature
In summer, the temperature of the road surface increases, and the friction between the tire and the road surface makes the surface temperature of the tire incredibly high, and the heat dissipation is relatively slow in summer. The thermal expansion causes the carcass of the tire to become thin, which makes it easy to burst. Moreover, the tire swells, resulting in poor compression resistance, which also increases the possibility of tire blowouts.
3. Low tire pressure
For low-pressure vacuum tires, if the tire pressure is too low, the contact surface between the tire and the ground will increase, the frictional resistance will also increase during driving, and the internal stress of the carcass will increase accordingly. When a car is running at a high speed, the tire heats up quickly, and it is easier to make the tire temperature rise sharply. The high temperature of the tire will cause the tire itself to expand and its pressure resistance will deteriorate. At the same time, when driving at high speed, the tire sidewall is easy to bend and break. The front and rear end of the tire contacting the ground repeatedly perform bending and straightening movements at a high frequency. For tires with low air pressure, the amplitude of this movement is much greater than under normal air pressure.
4. Vehicle overload
Domestic dump trucks are basically high-pressure tires, but when the carrying capacity of the dump truck exceeds the maximum load of the tire, the tire pressure will increase. When the sealing pressure of the tire valve is lower than the internal pressure of the tire, it will leak. If the driver does not detect the air leak in time, it will cause one of the dual rear wheels to be overloaded and cause a puncture.
5. Excessive wear
If the tires are not replaced and maintained, the tires will wear unevenly or excessively, and the weak points formed are the potential hidden dangers of puncture. Many dump trucks in the country have the problem of excessive wear on the surface of the tires. The tire patterns of some cars have been ground but are still in use. If it is not replaced in time, a flat tire is likely to occur due to factors such as high temperature, speeding, and bumpy roads.
